METS 2008

Radamec Control Systems Ltd showcased its new industry leading propulsion control system Kinetik at METS 2008 in Amsterdam. A full demo system was on display, this enabled customers to not only appreciate the simplicity of installation and use but also see first hand some of the innovative safety features such the safe handover of control from one station to another. Significant enquiries were received from over 14 different countries underlining the international appeal of this product. Applications that were being considered for Kinetik by customers included superyachts, workboats such as pilot boats and tugs to large sized trawlers. Kinetik is the culmination of decades of experience in the electronic controls market and offers a very cost effective way of controlling either electronic engines and clutches directly or traditional mechanical ones through the use of actuators.

In addition to Kinetik DARAD Radamec’s leading data logging and alarm system was also showcased. This system allows a wide variety of parameters to be constantly monitored and any alarm conditions to be logged and effectively communicated to the crew. Typically a system might monitor engines, tanks, fire systems etc. but is easily customisable to customer’s specific needs. Whilst primarily designed to monitor all manner of ships systems some visitors also made enquires about using the system in novel applications demonstrating the versatility of this system.

Radamec’s directors and sales staff who attended the show were all impressed at the wide variety of enquires received and in particular that Kinetik appealed to such a wide global audience.
