The system consists of rugged terminals, data collection devices and alarm display modules distributed around a 2-wire connection. Components are optically isolated allowing the data collection units to be in close proximity to the signal source and to be powered from the local 24Vdc supply. Additional data collection devices can be easily installed to meet the demands of system expansion. These design features ensure the system is easy to install for both new vessels and retrofit.

A variety of signal types are accommodated through discrete plug-in signal conditioning cards:
